The Colombian Red Grape coffee offers a unique and fruity flavor profile with notes of red grapes, grape candy, Welch’s juice, and a juicy sweetness.
This coffee is grown at 1,900 meters above sea level in the Quindío region of Colombia and is made from the Castillo variety. It undergoes an anaerobic honey process, where coffee cherries are fermented with a large quantity of grapes. To enhance the fermentation, panela (unrefined cane sugar) is added, ensuring optimal sugar levels. After the first fermentation, the cherries are mixed with the liquid in a 1:1 ratio, allowing further sugar absorption while preventing over-fermentation or excessive alcohol formation. Once the process is complete, the coffee is lightly washed and then dried.
This coffee features a balanced sweetness and fruitiness, with grape and sugarcane flavors standing out, making it an excellent choice for those who enjoy vibrant and complex specialty coffee.
Suitable for filter and espresso.
